Akzo Nobel extends relationship with Hertel
The contract for Hertel to provide insulation services to Akzo Nobel Industrial Chemicals in the Netherlands has been extended to all three sites.
The new agreement covers the provision of insulation services at the chemical manufacturer’s facilities in Rotterdam Botlek, Hengelo and Delfzijl and will include maintenance and turnaround periods.
Industrial services provider Hertel has a long history at Botlek having worked at the site for more than 25 years. The current contract will run for four years with the option of extending for a further two years.
During turnarounds staff numbers will more than double across the three sites, with Hertel anticipated to employee up to a 100 strong workforce at its peak.
Akzo Nobel Industrial Chemicals selected Hertel for demonstrating continued excellence in its quality and safety programme both before and during the tender.
Aldo Krijgsman, Hertel’s Business Development Manager for Western Europe, said: “I am proud that Hertel has been awarded this competitive contract for the prolonged period of four years. The contract win was made possible by our proven performance at the Rotterdam Botlek site and convincing plans for extending and developing our activity to Hengelo and Delfzijl.
“The contract marks a great example of strength in partnership and we hope to continue our long relationship with Akzo Nobel Industrial Chemicals to the mutual benefit of both companies.”
