Hertel Defence and Offshore signs contract with BP
Hertel Defence & Offshore recently signed a contract with BP for the design, manufacturing and installation of a Blast Resistant Office Building for their Rotterdam refinery.
The Blast Resistant Office Building comprises a number of Blast Resistant Modules (BRM’s), which are joined together on site.
This is another order for BRM’s after Hertel Defence & Offshore also signed a contract with Shell Pernis Refinery at the end of last year.
As a solution to the increasing demand for safety, optimisation and work-efficiency in explosion exposed areas, Hertel Defence & Offshore has engineered a standard solution for BRM’s. A BRM provides the ultimate solution for workers safety and equipment protection. By providing a safe haven within the process area, the operations can be accomplished in a much more efficient manner.
The BRM can also be customized to suit any specific needs. Whether the BRM has to serve as office-, sanitary-, storage- or work unit, all necessary furnishings and equipment required for any project can be provided. The BRM can also be fitted with fire resistant windows. Both standard and customized BRM’s can be outfitted with all provisions such as HVAC, Electrical, Sewage- and potable water systems.
Blast loads can go up to 12 PSI and the specifications meet or exceed ASCE, API and AESC standards.
