Hertel gets Oscars shortlisting

Hertel has been shortlisted in the ‘Oscars’ of the North West chemical industry in the UK.

Chemicals Northwest, the not-for profit industry organisation, has annual awards where it recognises the work being done by companies who are involved in chemical manufacturing or service industries.

Hertel has been named as one of four companies shortlisted in the 2011/2012 awards in the Corporate Social Responsibility or Responsible Care category.

The shortlisting is based upon its health and safety performance and the initiatives on sites across the region ranging from Rocksavage, the Stanlow oil refinery and the nuclear site at Sellafield.

David Fitzsimons, Managing Director of Hertel UK and Ireland, says: “It is great news to be shortlisted for this award and is recognition for the attention everyone pays to ensuring we operate in a safe manner.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony being held on 1 March at the Imperial War Museum North at Salford Quays.
