Hertel Offshore supplies craftsmanship for Moroccan frigates
The end of 2008 saw the start of the construction of three frigates for the Royal Moroccan Navy at the shipyard of our client Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding.
Besides the complete outfitting, Hertel Offshore also does the insulation.
From August 2011 to August 2012, the ships (ranging from 105 to 98 m) will be delivered one after the other and handed over to the Royal Moroccan Navy. Until then the development of the accommodation is quite a job. Besides cabins, mess rooms, day accommodation, complete sanitary rooms and refrigeration cells, we also put shelves in the storage rooms. Everything is being built to high quality demands. The customer's demands for luxurious furnishing of the accommodation is thoroughly taken into account. For this reason the 105 m ship has an admiral's room that is equipped with all conveniences.
The sides and decks of the three vessels are fitted with full thermal and fire-resistant insulation by Hertel Offshore. The shafts/chimneys of waste gas ducts are also provided with high-quality insulation in order to ensure the optimal evacuation of heat, and to remain invisible to hostile detection systems such as radar and infrared.
