Proven project capability

Hertel recently worked on the UK’s largest lightweight vermiculite fireproofing contract for CB&I John Brown Ltd on the South Hook LNG Terminal Project at Milford Haven

South Hook LNG Terminal is a UK company, owned by Qatar Petroleum LNG and ExxonMobil Qatargas, who are transporting LNG via super tanker from Ras Laffan in Qatar.

Hertel completed more than 20,000 square metres of fireproofing to all the site structural steelwork, the majority of which was carried out at a 29,000 square foot off-site facility in Middlesbrough.

Paul Taylor, fireproof department manager, said: “We provided the complete service from receiving the bare steel members from the fabricator to delivering the completed items to site.

“The joint areas were then completed on-site once the steelwork had been erected.”
