Jean is 50 years old and lives in Keerbergen, near Mechelen in Belgium, a peaceful residential area in a woodland setting.
“This explains why I have carried on living here, and in fact I’ve been here all my life. I regard Belgium as an ideal country, above all because of its political and social stability.”

“I work at Hertel as a project leader in the Insulation Department. In this capacity, I represent Hertel on site. I ensure that the relationship between the client and the various building specialisations runs as smoothly as possible. My responsibilities are both interpersonal and financial in nature, as I also have to keep track of the financial side of the site work. In short, I am a key contact person for multidisciplinary projects.”

“I derive enormous satisfaction from my work, because ensuring that everything goes right is a fresh challenge every day. What’s more, my role is a very dynamic, multifunctional one. To make sure that the work proceeds as smoothly as possible, effective supervision is needed, and any adjustments have to be made as quickly as possible. Ultimately, the goal is to take one step forwards at a time, to keep getting just that little bit better! When all the building specialisations are aligned harmoniously – both at the office and on site – that’s the best possible reward for me!”

“Working at Hertel is pleasant, because there’s a good atmosphere. The large measure of responsibility you’re given also definitely contributes to a very high level of job satisfaction. Finally, the say you have in what goes on and the fact that you are listened to is the icing on the cake – it’s what makes working for Hertel so fascinating.”

“Within five to ten years, I hope that Hertel will remain active as a maintenance partner to its customers with an even wider range of services. I hope that Hertel can grow into an even bigger global group, with a large international projects department.”
