Hertel Marine Services receives order of €30 million


Allseas has awarded Hertel Marine Services the contract for the delivery of a complete accommodation unit, including steel structure, required for the conversion of the bulk carrier Geeview into the pipelay vessel “Audacia” . The contract value is € 30 million.

The project has started immediately. The module has to be completed in September 2006 and will accommodate up to 240 people. The module – with a weight of 2600 tonnes – will be transported as a single unit to the yard of Keppel Verolme in Rozenburg, for installation onto the ship’s hull.

The scope of work of Hertel Marine Services includes a large variety of activities. The accommodation module will be ready for use immediately upon installation onto the hull and be equipped with all facilities required, such as air conditioning, sanitary equipment, fitness room and even a sauna. Hertel has also taken the responsibility for the detailed design.

Hertel Marine Services has placed the management of this elaborate project with the OACG, Offshore Accommodation Contractors Group. Together with Hertel Marine Services are Kranendonk and Heinen & Hopman shareholders of the OAC Group.
