Major order for McGill Services
Seadragon Offshore Limited have contracted to Tees Alliance Group Limited (TAG) the outfitting of a Bare Deck Unit (BDU) for a Semi-submersible Drilling Rig SD01.
TAG have sub-contracted to Hertel subsidiary McGill Services Limited the 192 man Living Quarters facility to include design through to final commissioning of all systems included within the facility.
The drilling rig structure is being built as a Bare Deck Unit (BDU) by Sevmash in Russia and is then being sailed round to Teesside, UK, for the complete topsides installation and rig commissioning. Tees Alliance Group (TAG) will carry out the fabrication and assembly works at its facilities in Haverton Hill and Greythorpe nearby.
Cleveland Bridge are the main contractor for all topsides works other than the living quarters and their scope includes fabricating, assembling and installing all of the other structures upon the Rig. Other sub contractors working on the rest of the rig include C&D who will be doing the Insulation, Architectural and HVAC, whilst EIWHS will be doing the E&I and Blacket Charlton will be doing the piping.
McGill’s scope of work includes the design, fabrication, installation assistance, and commissioning of the complete living quarters modules.
The rig is scheduled to arrive towards in Teesside at the end of this year and completion set for 3rd quarter of 2009.
