Hertel is an established contractor at nuclear sites throughout the UK, active in the fields of decommissioning, size reduction, active vent removal, services strip-out, containment design and installation.
The culture of partnership built into Hertel has enabled us to deliver improved quality and leaner ways of working through sharing knowledge and experience with our customers. Testament to this is the long term relationships we sustain not only in the nuclear industry, but all of the industries we serve.
The multi-disciplinary approach employed minimises the number of interfaces on tasks and projects providing clear lines of responsibility, as well as rationalising the overall management and control of procurement.
Safety is paramount throughout Hertel - the objective in all cases is to identify at source any acceptable level of risk, safety or operations that can be managed effectively. We have the ability to provide experienced permanent SQEP staff ranging from senior project managers, project engineers, health physics, works supervising officers and all blue collar trades.
An accredited NVQ Assessment Centre for Nuclear Decommissioning, Hertel employ a qualified team of assessors undertaking Level 2 Decommissioning NVQ’s in our training centre. The centre has successfully trained many Pressurised Suit Operatives since it opened in July 2002. These operatives are now embedded into our decommissioning teams on various nuclear sites throughout the UK.
