Mega operation for transporting office module

On July 6, 2010 the four-storey office module set off to Norway to be installed on the Ekofisk JackTel platform in the eponymous Norwegian oil field in the North Sea.

The order placed by ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS, covered the design, construction and outfitting of an office module for the JackTel platform. All the work was done to the exacting NORSOK Standard for Offshore Platforms. The office module has room for 60 occupants. The first floor is a recreation room, the second and third floors are taken up by offices and the fourth is a TER (Telecom Equipment Room).

Transporting this module of almost 400 tons from the site to the end destination in the North Sea was a real challenge. First the module was put on an SPMT (multiwheel trailer) for road transport to the quay of the Rotterdam harbour. There it was hoisted onto a large ship headed for Norway
