Safety: A shared responsibility
Safety is paramount within Hertel. All who work for and with Hertel share the responsibility to ensure that no-one gets hurt and all return home safely after a hard days’ work.
This vision is lived throughout Hertel globally. Last week Hertel CEO Joost Knoll visited the Shell ECC Houdini project in Singapore for a routine safety inspection of Hertel’s operations on the site. Other members of the safety inspection delegation were Simon Kramer, board director Hertel Asia and project sponsor, project manager Marius Nobel, safety manager Srinivasan Nithi, safety coordinator Kwah Sin Teck and construction manager John Lewis.
The safety performance on this project is impressive. On 6th of February the project reached of one million hours without any accidents. A significant performance considering that the peak manpower on this project has been in excess of 10,000. At the time of inspection, approximately 7,000 were working on the site, of which 800 were employed by Hertel.

First contract underway in Azerbaijan
On Friday 27th January, Hertel were awarded their first contract in Azerbaijan.
AMBHertel awarded best sub-contractor by Borouge
AMB-Hertel has been awarded “Best Sub-Contractor for 2009” by Borouge for its work on the world class Borouge-2 project.
Major contract successfully completed in the UAE
AMBHertel LLC have successfully completed their first major contract in the UAE with the completion of the Naptha Hydro-treater Reformer contract on the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) plant at Jebel Ali, Dubai.
