Technical & Blast Resistant Modules
Offshore
Hertel have developed Technical and Blast Resistant Modules, which can be engineered and configured to meet bespoke client requirements.

Technical & Blast Resistant Modules
Our Technical Modules are used in some of the most demanding environments around the world and can be used to house:
- Utility system modules
- Switchgear and instrumentation modules
- Control rooms, telecommunication units
- LV/HV cabins, transformer substations
- Mechanical systems, pump stations, hydraulic equipment
- Power (diesel, gas) generating units
- Process equipment (metering, chemical dosing)
- Fire fighting (foam and deluge) units
- Chilled water units (CWU's)
- Electrical and mechanical crane houses
- Diving chambers
- Refrigerated storage cells (shipbuilding)
- Fire and blast rated modular buildings
Our Blast Resistant Modules (BRM) have been developed as a solution to the increasing demand for safety, optimisation and work-efficiency in explosion exposed areas. A BRM provides the ultimate solution for workers safety and equipment protection. By providing a safe haven within the process area, the operations can be accomplished in an efficient manner.
The BRM can also be customised to suit any specific needs or can be combined into a complete Blast Resistant Building. Whether the BRM has to serve as office, sanitary, storage or work unit, all necessary furnishings and equipment required for any project can be provided.
Both standard and customised BRMs can be outfitted with all provisions such as HVAC, Electrical, Sewage and potable water systems. Blast loads can go up to 12 PSI and the specifications meet or exceed ASCE, API and AESC standards.
We can offer:
- Types:
- Standard Single module: 12x3.5x3.6m, 8 PSI
- Single modules to combine into a building
- Single module custom made (size, blast on request)
- Buildings custom made (size, blast on request)
- Scope:
- Maintenance
- Turnarounds
