Hertel signs accommodation contract for MSV Regalia
Hertel signed a contract with Dutch yard Keppel Verolme for the design, construction, installation and outfitting of a newly built 189 man accommodation for the semi-submersible multi service vessel ‘MSV Regalia.
The ‘MSV Regalia’ is owned by Prosafe Rigs Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prosafe SE.
The vessel will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment programme at the Keppel Verolme yard from mid-December 2008 with scheduled completion early May 2009.
All activities from initial design to final delivery, while meeting the demanding Norsok standards, have to be completed within one year. A tight schedule that will be met using prefabricated cabins. These cabins are the specialty of McGill Services the UK division of Hertel Defence & Offshore. The concept, based on plug and play philosophy, allows a reduced overall project schedule, parallel construction while steel structure is being fabricated, improved safety, testing and commissioning at McGill’s manufacturing site, integrated systems with “one hatch access”, etc.
