Great work by team in Kazakhstan commended by customer
Hertel’s work on the “D” Island hook up project in the Kashagan Field, Kazakhstan, has been commended by the customer, Aker Solutions.
The team were awarded the Contractor of the Month Award, recognising their commitment to working safely, passing all safety audits, and working in extreme heat without accident or incident while maintaining a good standard of workmanship.
Quintin Goldie, Hertel’s Country Director for Kazakhstan commented “We work hard to ensure that all of our people work safely. We are proud of our safety record, and this award is recognition of the effort of the whole workforce to maintain a high standard of professionalism in a very demanding environment.”
Hertel began working on the project to deliver insulation services for Aker Solutions in May, with the work planned to be completed in 2011.
D Island is part of Phase 1 of the development of the Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The artificial island, located 50 miles south east of Atyrau, is the first large-scale offshore petroleum development in Kazakhstan.
