Hertel wins iSixSigma award for new processes improvement initiative

Industrial services company Hertel has received international recognition for an initiative to improve its quality and efficiency.

The company has used the international process known as Six Sigma and won Re-energised Lean Six Sigma programme category at the iSixSigma awards for its work at a prestigious ceremony in Miami, Florida. Hertel was shortlisted alongside the US Army.

The awards are organised by iSixSigma.com, an independent international organisation which provides resources and support to organisations involved in implementing the Six Sigma process.

The award acknowledges Hertel’s successful implementation of the Six Sigma business strategy, which seeks to improve business performance and enable the company to meet its customer needs more effectively.

Joost Knoll, CEO of Hertel: “Safe and efficient services form the cornerstone of our offer to our customers. We introduced Six Sigma to Hertel to ensure that processes throughout the company are as efficient as possible and quality is maintained, delivering added value to our customers and helping them to achieve their goals. This award is testament to the focus we pay on delivering great services to our customers, which of course is backed up by real, measurable results.”

Hertel introduced Six Sigma five years ago and now has dedicated Six Sigma consultants providing training and guidance across the business.

Ben Doornbusch, Business Improvement Manager at Hertel, explains “The results of our programme have proven to be very beneficial for both Hertel and our customers. Today, we have eleven Six Sigma professionals throughout the group who are not only capable of running efficiency improvement programmes, but also training others in the Six Sigma methodology.

“Winning this award is a fantastic achievement, but the real satisfaction for me comes from seeing our team develop, helping people perform better, in turn delivering great customer experiences.”

One such professional, Stef Suijkerbuijk, a Six Sigma Black Belt, says: “The award is recognition of the success achieved with the introduction of Six Sigma. It is now an integral part of our business process.

“The process has enabled us to improve our performance and deliver a more efficient service, which ultimately benefits our clients.”
