The highest recognition for safe working at the Drax power station has been awarded to Hertel UK.
A gold award for safe working was presented by Peter Emery, Production Director at the annual Drax safety seminar to Graham Little, Hertel’s site Operations Manager.
Hertel has worked at Drax for more than two years and provides access solutions, insulation services, corrosion protection, asbestos management and industrial cleaning. The team of 180 has now completed more than 741,991 man hours without a lost-time incident.
Chris Abbey, Hertel UK and Ireland’s Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, said: “As a company, safety as one of our core values and I know that the team at Drax works hard every day to maintain the safest working environment for themselves, colleagues and others who work at the site.”
Steve Robinson, Maintenance Planning Section Head at Drax, added: “Drax is a demanding site and safety is of paramount importance. Everyone should be very proud as this achievement is the result of two years hard work.”
