Commitment to Safety recognised in Kazakhstan
Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. have recognised Hertel’s excellent Safe Work Practices within the KPO Operation Plant, by presenting the award to 10 key members of the Hertel Team.
Hertel Kazakhstan are successfully operating a Maintenance Contract specialising in Fireproofing, Surface Preparation, Coatings and Refractory works.
Hertel Regional Manager, Neil Chalmers commented "I am particularly proud for our team, especially as this is our busiest year so far with around 50 employees working on site, who are all Nationals of Kazakhstan, and it clearly demonstrates that our efforts to ensure a safe and healthy workplace and wellbeing has been achieved, and we continue to strive for constant improvement within this goal."
Vincent Given of KPO also commented "Well done to all, this shows that we are progressing with our attitudes and implementation of safety procedures and practices. Again, on behalf of Majorworks Section Head and my colleagues, very well done and thank you for all your efforts."
The project is situated in-land to the North West of Kazakhstan near the Russian border. One of the most fundamental challenges is the extreme weather conditions endured; regularly -40C in Winter, and +40C in Summer.
