Hertel grows in China with Ming Yun acquisition


Hertel has acquired a majority stake in Ming Yun Accommodation System and Engineering, a Shanghai based company specialising in the design and manufacturing of furniture for ship cabins and offshore living quarters.

Board director Mark Witjens: ‘We are delighted to welcome Ming Yun within our group. Our combined expertise will enable us to design and produce a wide range of standard and bespoke fire and shock resistant furniture to meet with the stringent demands from our clients. We aim to grow both the domestic and the export markets for Europe and other Asian countries’.

Hertel has three businesses in Shanghai;
  • Ming Yun Accommodation System and Engineering Co.

  • Joint-venture Shanghai Hertel-Yanda Installation Engineering Co.,Ltd, providing support services to the power and process industries

  • Faro International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, specialising in sourcing and trading activities of Marine Products to be used for outfitting of living quarters and ship accommodations.

In 2005, Hertel Defence & Offshore started its business relationship with Ming Yun. The product portfolio comprises wooden, aluminium and steel furniture that meet the stringent demands applying for the defence & offshore industries. The company is positioned at the high-end export market and local Chinese marine furniture market. All certificates are in place to meet the highest requirements.
