Industrial Scaffolding

Both common sense and the law require that where work on a construction site cannot safely be done from the ground or from part of a structure, scaffolding or an alternative must be provided.

A scaffold, properly designed, erected and maintained, will provide both a means of access and working place which is as safe as those found in existing structures and on permanent structures.

Scaffold designs are executed to fulfil the requirement of the Working at Height Regulations and are completed to the highest technical standards. All designs are in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures and incorporate design risk assessments to satisfy the CDM Regulations.

We are available to provide a swift response to our customer’s requirements including:

• Structural Loadings and calculations
• Design Drawings
• Design Risk assessments
• Site Visits

In addition, should there be any special requirements regarding technical input we are able to provide this through the expertise of the in-house technical department.

To save our customers time and money our design-team have developed a design manual covering circa 40 routine scaffolding needs including lifting frames, cantilevers, bridges and so on. These routine design solutions enable site operatives to minimise design input and costs to provide a faster response.

Cost and Quality management

Hertel have developed a bespoke access management tool to provide surety of cost and quality to our customers. To enable customers to manage their access needs more effectively a range of standard reports are provided.

From initial request and cost estimate through to standing scaffold reports, monthly hire costs and erection/dismantle status during pre and post project or outage the application provides clear and accurate information to afford customers a greater level of control.

Reports include:

• Cost estimates
• Standing scaffolds register
• Man-hour estimates
• Hire (At customer agreed intervals)
• Workforce Competence

We have over thousands directly employed qualified access operatives and are able to provide a rapid response to our customers in all regions.

Access operatives are qualified to national standards and working at height regulations. They receive regular performance appraisals and training needs assessments to ensure they maintain their levels of competence.
