Hertel enters Australian market with Modern Industries acquisition

With the acquisition of Australian services company, Modern Industries Pty Ltd, Perth, industrial construction and maintenance provider Hertel has grown its global footprint.

Australia is set to become the largest LNG exporter in the world with major projects underway in the North West of Western Australia and across the country. The acquisition fits in Hertel’s strategy to further increase its market share and knowledge base of the LNG sector.

Andrew White, managing director Modern Industries: “We are delighted to be part of the Hertel group. We knew their excellent reputation in the European, Middle East and Asian markets. Our skills and capabilities complement those of Hertel and we see a strong cultural fit. Bringing our companies together gives Hertel Modern a head start in the Australian market. I believe Hertel Modern hits all the buttons in the LNG sector in Australia:
  • Proven ability to meet client project objectives regarding safety, schedule, budget and quality
  • Strong safety culture and track record
  • Industry leading Indigenous participation and development programme
  • Impeccable industrial relations record and union relationships
  • Local resources with the experience and cooperative attitude
  • Australian Management Team with global experience on major projects

Joost Knoll, CEO Hertel Group: “We are excited to be expanding to a new continent – Australia. Supported by our strong organisation in Asia, the acquisition of Modern Industries marks our entrance into the booming Australian market. The team of Modern industries is both very professional and entrepreneurial, and we are confident that Hertel Modern will become a major player in the Australian market.”
