Success in Singapore brings expansion

Hertel has recently celebrated the opening of its newly built workshop in Singapore. The workshop will produce prefabricated sheeting for industrial insulation.

Equipped with state-of-the-art computer controlled cutters, the workshop accommodates approximately 25 sheet metal workers.

Hertel started its operations in Singapore in April 2008 with the acquisition of Kok Chang Scaffolding Ltd. After intensive training of talented craftsmen, Hertel now is also able to serve the local market with high quality industrial insulation. Hertel has already been awarded major contracts from many blue chip companies in the region, where it currently employs over 1300 trained craftsmen.

CEO Hertel, Joost Knoll: ‘It is extremely good to see that in this relatively short period of time, a real Hertel team has been formed and that already we have had to expand our operations. It proves that our clients appreciate the Hertel values, with a constant focus on safety, sustainability and training of our people. The combination of our entrepreneurial skills with the expertise of the former Kok Chang operations works very well. I am very proud of our people and am convinced that in this part of the world Hertel will be the leading industrial services company.’

Board director Hertel Far East, Simon Kramer: ‘ We feel very much at home in Singapore. The blend of local and global talents is successful and we believe that we are able to set the pace in the industry with high safety standards and a constant care for our people. This way we can outperform for our clients and exceed expectations. Our clients benefit from a global network of professionals and over a century of experience, so they can truly rely on us to perform. After all, it is all about understanding the challenges in their industry’.

The official opening of the workshop was celebrated with a traditional Chinese Lion and Dragon dance, which are said to bring good luck and prosperity.
