Hertel OTC awarded Saudi Aramco fireproofing contract
A $1.3 million contract to carry out the fireproofing activities at Saudi Aramco’s Karan gas processing facilities project has been awarded to Hertel OTC by Hyundai Engineering and Construction.
The work will cover 7,100m2 of equipment and 11,000m2 of pipe supports and steel structures and will be carried out during the construction of the $1.3billion gas processing trains for the offshore Karan gas field.
Robert Wakefield, Director of Business Development at Hertel OTC, says: “The fireproofing techniques being used at the Karan gas processing project are fully tailored and will offer an effective performance.
“It has been a strong start to 2011 from Hertel OTC as this is our third major contract win at Saudi Aramco projects. It follows a $1.2million contract for painting at Jubail export refinery and a $600,000 pointing contract at the Congeneration plant at Manifa with Al Rushaid Construction Company.”
