Synergies with Quest acquisition take shape in the UK
The takeover of offshore accommodation contractor Quest Worldwide by Hertel Offshore has created a new force in the Aberdeen offshore market.
The acquisition, which was completed on the 14th of April 2010, will see the two companies combine services to become a complete service provider for the Offshore Industry, with specialist experience in the design, engineering, outfitting and fabrication of offshore accommodation modules.
The collaboration of Quest Worldwide and Hertel’s offshore division on the Cormorant Alpha project for TAQA was the catalyst which has lead to the acquisition. Hertel Managing Director (division Hertel Offshore UK), Jon Rokk explains “As part of our business strategy it was important for us to acquire a presence in Aberdeen as the UK capital for the Offshore Industry.”
It would seem that the partnership between the two companies is already working as only weeks after the acquisition was completed Hertel Offshore have managed to secure a 3 year upgrade and maintenance contract for the Murchison Platform with Canadian company CNR. Jon Rokk says: “The awarding of the Murchison contract proves that we have the experience and expertise to perform and deliver with the competition in Aberdeen.”
