Latest Lanxess award makes it four in Singapore

The safety performance delivered by the partnership between Hertel and UTOC has been recognised with an award by Lanxess. Hertel and UTOC are working together for lead contractor Foster Wheeler on the Lanxess BTR Project in Singapore.

The ‘Safe Contractor of the Month’ award was made in recognition of Hertel UTOC meeting and exceeding safety compliance requirements, HSE records and HSE audits by the client, as well as the general approach to safety. This is the fourth time the ‘Safe Contractor of the Month’ award has been presented to Hertel UTOC.

Hertel and UTOC are playing a significant part in the project, providing a team 960 strong which contributes to a total of around 2000 from 14 contractors working on site. In addition to the award, Hertel UTOC has crossed the milestone of 1 million man-hours LTI free.

Various awareness programmes have been run - both in conjunction with Foster Wheeler and independently - focusing on safe working within specific areas such as hotworks, safe lifting and rigging, and working at height.
